Biden could just do more to bring about a ceasefire and stop funding the IDF. It’s pretty reasonable to send a warning through the primary as the outcome of the primary was a forgone conclusion. It’s a large enough group of people to be the difference between winning and losing Michigan.

I just don't think the cutoff nose to spite face thing is gonna work with that sort of "statement making" rn. Anything that isn't an unfortunate, pride-swallowing submission to Biden being the only realistic option in a race against a literal fascist is a win for Republicans. They want this kind of division among Dems.
I'm not saying I disagree with the sentiment behind the way those folks chose to vote, I just feel like those things make for better tweets and headlines than anything else.

Because over the last few months we’ve seen countless accusations of anti war protesters being called anti semitic, same with demonstrations on campus. Cities and towns have been passing ceasefire resolutions and those get dismissed as meaningless. A dude set himself on fire in protest of the war and everyone is saying he was mentally ill. And now you’re saying that expressing frustration at the ballot box is “lazy” so I’m curious, what exactly do you propose? |

I'll be honest, I was being flippant + didn't realize the write-in thing had such a push behind it, particularly on official terms from different Arab American organizations/support groups. That's my bad, should've done my due diligence before being board-y and posting snark. With that said, I obviously agree with the sentiment behind the uncommitted/write-in stuff. I just think that anything less than a united front behind Biden (unfortunately) plays directly into the hands of Trump and his handlers. Nobody is pleased about it, it just is what it is. |
