Minnesota is probably the only other state where it will happen at any significant amount. For most people this isn’t that personal, but Michigan and Minnesota have large Muslim populations and people who have lost family members in Gaza.

i was actually reading about how muslim / middle eastern voters have historically been republican (based on my family, can vouch on this one) but switched to the democrats in 2004 after the iraq war but this whole genocide in gaza could potentially force a switch back to republican among them.

Are you serious? By 1942, the Allied powers at large knew, but that's only the explicit extermination of Jews, not the persecution and expulsion. Walter Benjamin died in Francoist Spain explicitly fleeing the Holocaust in 1940, as did many Jews and others at that time. A good chunk of the United States' most influential intellectuals in the mid-20th century were German Jews who came after the Nazis took power prior to even 1940, and that goes for other Allied powers as well. I'm pretty certain the Jews who fled after Hitler took power did so for their lives, not just the inconvenience. You can split hairs about when exactly the holocaust began and what acts specifically initiated the holocaust, but it's total bullshit to claim that the Allied powers and their populations were simply naïve. One way or other other, comparing the IDF and the Nazis to see which one is "worse" is a deeply morally incompetent and profoundly stupid way to look at it. |

Russia, and pretty much every occupying army, are doing the exact same things as the IDF do whenever they enter a village, which is rape the young women and loot peoples homes. This is why war is fucking horrible, but it doesn't mean we can go around throwing lazy comparisons now.
