I’ve also lost a lot of faith in the “good” not crazy outlets in the libertarian media ecosystem, like Reason. Cato is still very good. Economically, both parties come up as big time losers. But one party is openly hostile to basic liberty, it’s not close unless you wanna just maintain your cool kid in the back of class yelling “bullshit” cred.

what is a centrist podcaster Self-proclaimed, really. Basically where Dave Rubin started before eagerly fumbling his way rightward. Lex Fridman, Andrew Huberman, etc. There are actually a lot of them. The kinds of guys who are just looking to have a “conversation” in which they don’t pushback on bullshit, unless it’s left wing bullshit. Basically what Joe Rogan claims to be but is too temperamentally and behaviorally childish to convincingly pull off. |

and just a prime example of how dangerous it can be for credible sources and institutions to print misinformation no matter how quickly and/or extensively it’s retracted This was a huge talking point with conspiracy leaning types about the CDC, WHO and COVID stuff with mask efficacy and whatever. There's some allure to bucking the system and experts that breeds authoritarian thinking. It's very hard to pull someone back from reactionary positions when they do not understand the mechanisms for peer review. It's no wonder some of them start only eating meat and taking DNA Force pills because a guy they saw on YouTube. It's disheartening. |

I wouldn’t say pro-death penalty. What bums me out is how anti-immigration pilled the party has to turn to appeal to a broad enough base. But if dems fully embrace YIMBY agenda long term and break away from idiotic tariffs, I may switch my voter registration to dem.
