where does locking up all the billionaires and redistributing their wealth fall on that spectrum? asking for a friend… We should really lean into the worshipping of billionaires. Set a cap where if you make so much, they'd "win" at being American and get to do whatever they want for a year or two. Then we publicly sacrifice them, put their face on currency (presidents suck, ben franklin sucks), and redistribute the wealth. Maybe make it a lottery so there wouldn't be a clear front runner. People that don't want to die would put money back into their company by either making a better product, paying employees more, or whatever it takes to keep them out of the lottery. Those that are sacrificed have their money go towards schools, healthcare, canceling debt, t-shirts that have them looking like jesus on the cross with "he died for my wins" written on it. |

I think the better solution is changing zoning laws to allow for a lot more development, with affordable housing as enforced by the government still part of the equation but mitigated greatly by the sheer amount of supply. theres 16 million empty homes in the US currently. when most are owned by private equity firms, it doesn’t matter how many there are |

i guess we did not address that part of the statement. what things that the “far left” proposes would make the world worse? I guess that’s a little nebulous. Far left in terms of economic policy? Foreign policy? Social policy or just social attitudes? Some of that stuff is contested over what constitutes far left or just left of center. A social safety net like some European countries?
