There are a vast number of unlivable houses hours removed from realistic job prospects let alone communities where people would like to live. We need to build houses, apartments, severely cut back on zoning that prohibits mixed use, etc. To argue otherwise is just regurgitating conservative “keep the poors out” bullshit or outdated well-to-do lib character of communiy/faux self serving environmentalists arguments. you’re so close to getting it Enlighten me, daddy.

Read/skimmed and gave it an honest effort to understand. When it gets to an actual plan of action the only policy prescription to pay for universal healthcare and a welfare state like the world has never known is “only tax the wealthy, no taxes for middle class and below.” That’s not workable and everyone in the world knows it. How do you even maintain a robust stable of the super rich to pay for everything in perpetuity? The document is almost 20 years old so I wanna give the benefit of the doubt, but I think the its ideas are basically rigid or intractable anyway and exist independent of real world conditions. Dyed in the wool commie stuff reminds me of people who read Thomas Sowell’s ideas from decades ago and think they have a prescription for modern ills. Also funny cuz now he’s just an unhappy old man whose main goal is just keeping all dems out of power and all of his lofty ideals rarely come into play, like far lefties who just laughing and shitposting through what they believe to be end times. this isn’t a document on organizational practices. It’s the party program. www.cpusa.org/party_info/cpusa-constitution/Yeah…I know. What’s your point? Edit: I mean how does that change anything?

This isn't an answer, dipshit. Carter appointed Paul Volcker, Jr. as Chairman of the Federal Reserve. Volcker, who was later reappointed by Reagan in 1983. In 1979, Volcker said that "the standard of living of the average American has to declin" fucked with labour unions in Nicaragua, and I think more than any president he holds record for military bases built

If you want to play that game the Democrats started selling out the working class pretty quickly after FDR. Even FDR’s support for labor was tenuous at best. Kennedy rode in on military Keynesianism and tax cuts for the rich.
But that's a pretty daft way to think about things. Aggregations of people’s beliefs and values are always going to produce contradictions. Elected officials can try to stand against that current and pursue their own values and beliefs or they can embrace contradictions and be labeled hypocrites. Both choices are ass.

Most Americans are not “leftwing” or anything close to it. They are in favor of the financially suicidle subsidization of the “middle class.” They want the local, state, and federal government to ensure that the value of their property only ever increases, even as this decimates younger people and the poor. They want to have anything they want delivered to their door in two days for free, but the resultant truck traffic ought to go somewhere else and pollute someone else’s air and they don’t want a truck stop anywhere near them, either. They want the government to pay for the storage of their private vehicle on public land. They want the inalienable right to file lawsuits when the city tries to stick a playground or a bus stop too close to their house. They want the government to help them maintain an advantage in the labor market.
