The boomer die-off wont solve anything because their underachieving male children think George Carlin was an insightful political commentator.

Even if there was majority support, the people most likely to oppose it have a structural advantage in Congress.

Anyhow, I'm pretty stoked on my local transit agency's quick action in compliance with the FTA's final rule regarding 49 Code of Federal Regulations (CFR) Part 673. Thank you, Infrastructure Investment and Jobs Act of 2021!

private health insurance employs large numbers of people in many congressional districts. The representative is supposed to vote to kill constituents' jobs? Then there's congressional seats held by Democrats who rely on critical union support, and many unions enjoy very good healthcare and do not want it to change. That source is also terrible. If you click the links it cites, they don't say what it says they do. For example: "KFF polling also shows many people falsely assume they would be able to keep their current health insurance under a single-payer plan, suggesting another potential area for decreased support especially since most supporters (67 percent) of such a proposal think they would be able to keep their current health insurance coverage (Figure 11)." [thank you to my boss for being out of town and being unable to respond to my emails, this allows me more time to post]

You don't know what the FTA's final rule regarding 49 Code of Federal Regulations (CFR) Part 673 is, but if you did you would know that it improves working conditions in a major source of employment for black Americans without a college degree! 1994 Crime Bill also included the Violence Against Women Act. Good or bad? Moreover, the 1994 Crime Bill had greater support among Black Americans than white Americans and the Congressional Black Caucus approved it.

from your previous source. I think that's a really, really vitally important detail. Looking at this one you just linked, what immediately jumps out at me is that, when you break down the percentages as the source does, you might notice that... support is highest among demographics that vote less often and/or make up a smaller percentage of party membership (or do not belong to the party at all). So, when it comes to voting for representatives and presidential candidates who support M4A, support is not very strong. Of course it has increased. A guy ran for the Democratic nomination twice with M4A as one of his signature policy proposals and he campaigned for and/or endorsed congressional candidates who felt the same way. I'd also argue that Obamacare is not a disaster. It's an improvement.

To me seemed to just monopolize what was left of isrance companies, gov picks up tab while they charge what they want deny who they want

it increased access to healthcare. 26 million people still insured, and rest that have it can't afford the bills they get. Wow problem solved.

Orrrrrr… there’s an extremely cynical and corrupt media and party apparatus desighned to suppress support for things like universal healthcare. That same apparatus has invested in anti-government rhetoric for decades, and the US federal government has gutted itself from within to ensure that it can never function in the ways that people need. I do not buy the reductive notion that there’s something special and intrinsic about Americans that makes them resistant to change or behave self-destructively.

I would fund therapy in same building.

Yes, a large part of that has to do with state governments. For example, whether or not you benefited from the 2014 Medicaid expansion thanks to the ACA depends on what state you live in. When I lived in Indiana in 2014, Medicaid did not help provide health insurance for my brother, who did not meet the absurd low income requirements and so on. However, I did get healthcare because of the 2014 Medicaid expansion when I did not have employer-provided healthcare when I moved to California in 2020.

I wasn't being a dick there at all. I 100% agree with the idea. Obviously they should be regulated somewhat to avoid the worst aspects.
