It also creates a game theory type of situation where families are forced to get bigger cars because it'll increase their chances of surviving a car accident. What's bothersome about reckless driving is the only things that can stop it are 1. law enforcement (tickets) or 2. accidents (fatalities) and as someone who doesn't love law enforcement I'm not sure what can/should be done. Do we really need more cameras because people drive like fucking assholes? ah hell yeah dawg you're in my wheelhouse now. First, we should outlaw right-on-red in most circumstances. We also need to design streets to discourage lower speeds at a structural level. There are many strategies for doing so. |

I think that a lot of trucks produced since around 2009 should require CDLs to operate and should cost more to park on public land. And it should cost substantially more to register them as well.  |

I think that a lot of trucks produced since around 2009 should required CDLs to operate and should cost more to park on public land. And it should cost substantially more to register them as well. Maybe does, maybe doesn't. I'd have to look at da data. Cops shouldn't have em, either, but they do.
The big auto manufacturers could design trucks and SUVs with sloping hoods, but consumers don't like it so they don't. Even with electric pick up trucks that literally do not have an engine under the hood still have a massive frontend. The height and blunt shape of the vehicle's frontend (plus the sheer size) pretty much guarantees pedestrian death at far slower speeds than other vehicles. Study after study reveals the exact same thing.
