Young Canadians don't necessarily disagree with these things either, they've just been taught if you don't vote for the Liberals that you're giving your vote away to the Conservatives. Probably hard to break that thinking when they see what's happening just below them.

Probably hard to break that thinking when they see what's happening just below them. Yeah I think that plays into it, but it's just dumb fear mongering in the end. I remember even asking a Liberal MP at my door why I should vote for him over NDP or Green, and all he could say is that I'd be wasting my vote. They don't care about policy or actually improving lives. The thing is too that NDP has won provincial elections in nearly every province(even in Alberta), but people just get scared when it comes to voting in the federal. Canadian politics are such a mess.

I was working in Grand Prairie last summer and I talked to more trump fans there than I encounter in the states GP and Fort Mac are like ground zero for those mouth breathers. There's so many people who move out there to work in the oil fields, and end up coming back as full blown racists with a coke addiction and a leased truck.

Yeah it's just a whole nother level up there. I don't know if you've watched Fubar before, but the 2nd film does a good job at taking the piss out of Fort Mac.

10 years ago i bought a chinese flag to hang in my bedroom moreso just to display my ethnicity/heritage but started to realize how i despised how their government treats the people. i threw it away and replaced it with a hong kong bc my mom was born in HK. i always told myself i wanted to visit china before i die but i have zero interest now. i already visited HK 2 years ago and taiwan is next on my list. Taiwan is so beautiful and vibrant and welcoming. Do some travel by bus if you can, the views from their highways are some of the most beautiful I've ever seen. I think China is arguably the most interesting place in the world, certainly one of the most relevant, and I hope you do go sometime. It is neither a worker's paradise nor a soulless vacuum of American jobs.

Also a bonus would be a Panda Conservation facility so I can feed a baby panda

Solidarity I already had class concerns with paying you 20 bux to violate your morals about voting. I'm even more confused about paying for you do something you could do if you actually wanted to.

I dunno why anyone would want to go to NK just to sit in a barren motel room with no internet, only to be given a guided tour on a bus through a fantasy world where you only see what they want you to see. You could just go on It's A Small World ride at Disneyland and get a better idea of what DPRK is like.

I'm so confused and lost. Pages later, this holds true. I have nothing to contribute because I have basically an everyday understanding of current events and this shit right here feels like I stepped into an intense grad-level debate where one of the guys looked at the cleavage of the other guy's sister.

But you're seeing what they want you to see, and even that is an engineered show. A fake sample of reality. I dunno why anyone would think that's a good way to base your beliefs about how it really is.
