Sugargay (in a good way) can you make a YouTube playlist of these reccs? Hell I'd sign up for Spotify if you made a list there too.

I was on a train pulling out and on the opposite side there were two guys with the old dr Spock hair, small black shirt, short black jeans. The whole OG emo look. Was pretty stunned to see it in 2020. I tried to point them out to my girlfriend but she didnt care and thought I was picking on them so told me to shut the fuck up. On another note, of all the genres, emo is something I’ve never got into because I just dont get it. It sounds like it sux to me. Of course you don't get it. There's no Midwest in Australia. I dont get that either.

99% of anything "emo revival" or labeled "emo" in the last 15 years has me all:

One of my favorite skate videos set to some Gray Matter:
Too bad Ali did all that fucked up shit.
The Navio Forge LP was a holy grail when I was a juvenile. RIP to Sarah Kirsch.
The best Hoover track:
Pop Unknown was a Mineral spinoff:
Greetings From Joon is a band I've never heard anyone mention, but they certainly fit in here. Their album is like a weird mix of No Idea emo from the late 90s and The Get Up Kids.
Also, the Split Lip version of Fate's Got A Driver is clearly the superior version.
The first Grade LP is definitely the most conventionally "emo."
Lanemeyer's second album got trashed by everyone I know, but I always thought it was really good. Definitely grows on you. Vocals are like Small Brown Bike/Hot Water Music but the music is more pop punk-derived.

yooooooooo lanemeyer
i say charles de mar's quote that preceded "what a shitty summer" at least once per week
also a lot of "modern" emo is good despite some of it being unlistenably soft/overproduced

I'm from the Midwest originally but I live in Portland now. Quit trying to change the subject and write me into your will so I get some sick Fearless Records hookups if you get the 'ronies.

My band in high school opened for them during this time period, along with Fairweather. Jason Gleason was such a better front man than Chris Carabba.

The greatest emo band ever. Fight me. But don't hit me too hard. I cry really easy.
Greatest emo band ever. Correct.

the last two Hot Rod Circuit records don't hold up, but everything up through Sorry About Tomorrow is gold.
I wish more of the emo revival bands drew from Texas is the Reason. that band still feels overlooked.
Also maybe this is going into "hot taek" territory but the last Braid record is my favorite.
