There were a lot of fun poppy bands towards the end of the 90's that had some rip melodies.

OHHHHHHHH I'M FUCKING DYING TO KNOW WHO KEEPS YOU COMPANY I KNOW WHEN I'M NEEDED AND WHEN I'M DEFEATED
I was working in a record store when that last Promise Ring album came out. NO ONE liked that thing. I didn't even like it at the time. I remember my friend who was a die-hard fan of both TPR and The Get Up Kids coming into my store the day this came out and I played promo copies of both back-to-back. He despised both but I dug On A Wire. I've come around to Wood/Water for sure. The songs sound especially good live.
I actually saw them on a tour in 2001 and they played "Stop Playing Guitar" for the first time. It got no reaction at all from the crowd.

flightmodeosl.bandcamp.com/album/the-three-timesFFO: The Weakerthans, The Hotelier, Mineral. This band has put out 3 stellar EPs over the past 3 years, it sounds like something from the 90's that was just uncovered on some blank cassette tape. Hopefully they make it to the US soon.

Obsessed with the Lync LP at the moment, pretty much wen't through the entire revival without checking them out. Looking forward to the Julia LP getting a repress too

New SDRE cuts are fun but ultimately bumming me out.

Me, I'm loving Nineties emo entering its boxed-set discography era, because the upkeep on a lot of those original records gets annoying. First box on my list once I can buy records again is Current:
I can't tell if that last song is Seaweed worship, Rites of Spring worship, or Ignition worship, and at the day of the day it doesn't matter what church they're jamming at. Rules. My one complaint about Coliseum is that it needs a few songs like this to break up its more alt leanings.
Edit: On the other hand, I wasn't aware until today of their dual-vocals era, and the other singer is really bad.
