the last two Hot Rod Circuit records don't hold up, but everything up through Sorry About Tomorrow is gold. I wish more of the emo revival bands drew from Texas is the Reason. that band still feels overlooked. Also maybe this is going into "hot taek" territory but the last Braid record is my favorite. Reality’s coming through was awful aside from “inhabit” especially coming off the record before where every song is good, that band lost every bit of momentum they had. I liked the next album, had some good songs but a different direction with all the pedal steel.

Penfold reunion in 2006 was such a good show.

The last two records certainly had great songs like that one, "Tell The Truth", "Stateside", etc, but they just could not hit the highs of the previous records

I can't get into the last two Hot Rod Circuit albums but I haven't tried in a while. Maybe I'll revisit them. The first three are really good, especially the second and third.
Here are some full albums.

Page three and no Julia LP..... I'm torn between being too dumb to know how to post videos and being too good for this thread

Jejune's This Afternoon's Malady is a fantastic record I like Jejune, but I always preferred Junk and RIP. Malady seemed to be missing the punchy hooks on the other two, but maybe I should give it another go.

I wish more of the emo revival bands drew from Texas is the Reason. that band still feels overlooked. I love how chunky and chuggy TITR get. Agreed, as big as a name they are, I can't think of any bands that were noticeably influenced by them.

Does A Days Refrain fall under the moniker of emo? I guess they were more metallic emo... core?

I love Samiam, especially You Are Freaking Me Out and Astray. Texas Is The Reason are perfect, and if you like them, I agree the first Spitalfield EP and album are pretty good. This Afternoon's Malady by Jejune totally holds up better than I remember.
Anyone who likes The Appleseed Cast, I threw in their demo.

I wouldn't classify Gleemer as straight up emo but its still definitely there. Indie, shoe gazy, alternative. Some standout tracks from new album:
