Also I live in England so it's basically never hot, even in the summer. Everyone I know who has house plants says that once a month is fine. Get into the habit of picking up your plants and “weighing” them. When they’re freshly watered they’ll be super heavy, but as they dry out they get lighter. Eventually you’ll learn the weight of each. And also someone else said they get droopy, another visual cue. Eventually you’ll just kinda figure it out based on the above. Light is always the biggest thingt though, and if you live somewhere without a lot of sun you’ll need to make sure it’s getting enough maybe at another window or with a lamp. Thanks dude. My monstera has been sat high up on a shelf and it's definitely not been getting enough light. I'll be sure to move it later today.

Seent in comment section of plant vids that adding a fast rooting cutting into snake plant water props helps them root faster because it releases hormones. Added monstera cuttings into my snake plants and they all have pups now. Pretty crazy how effective it is.

I walked in to Kroger for a rotisserie chicken and walked out with this happy fucker for only $6.99. And they were sold out of rotisseries!

not sure if this counts as a house plant but a few weeks ago I put together this little mini terrarium with scavenged materials from the little trails near where I live (aside from the lil scoop of soil). I'm not sure what the long term survivability is but it's been a fun experiment.

Few of my cacti died this winter. Grow lights, minimal water. Still dead. Very painful.

I've got a snake plant I got as a work holiday party gift three years ago that's probably big enough now to re-pot, or possibly even divide. And I'd like an aspidistra, just to up the bachelor trash quotient.
Also a pot plant. I'd like a pot plant.

I am luckily in the southwest corner of my building so I do ok
I only have a humidifier in my bedroom though, so when something starts to look a little down it comes in to stay with me for a little while

It was the cacti plus two money plants that died. I had to get a humidifier for the bedroom, dehumidifier for the living room and I’m doing much better about rotating my plants.

i accidentally snapped off a leaf from my snake plant when i was moving it a few months ago, so for fun i threw it in some water and expected it to either not root or root suuuuuper slowly. but it exploded and has tons of growth. it's still in water and i think i'm just gonna leave it cause it's pretty neat looking and seems to be working.

A couple growers are starting to push out Thai Conatellations and Albo Monstera. A friend was getting Pink Princess Philos in for 8$ each last month. Wild.
