So my two year old loves the song “sing” by The Carpenters. She learns the words the more she listens, and it’s awesome to hear her sing along. She loves it so much she’s sung it in her sleep. Popped into the used shop the other day and found a copy of Now & Then. I showed her the cover and she got real excited and started singing. She opened up the gatefold and called it a book. It’s kind of the perfect kids album. There’s a weird Hank Williams cover of Jambalaya, and side B has a medley of 50’s pop hits.
Pre ordered the new Enslaved ep that sold out immediately. I don’t understand how a band of their size would release an ep but only press 100 copies.

scouring the local buy and sell and i managed to find an original press life's blood and inside front compilation with congress, regression and liar on it off some yoga instructor looking person in their late 40's. this is especially weird because i live in the middle of nowhere in canada. i was like "so... were these yours?" and they said "yeah i loved hardcore when i was 16." just a real perplexing pick up.

i figure this is as good a thread as any to ask... but i'm looking to replace my headshell and needle, and haven't done so in about 18 years. anyone have any recommendations for something cheap (but good enough for listening) and simple?

You’d have to do some research about what is compatible with your turn table. I bought a Nagaoka 110 with a headshell for $180 to replace the stock cartridge that came with mine and there was a huge improvement. I’ve heard it’s better than the Ortofon red and blue carts. There are some cheaper Audio Technica ones that do the job as well but I don’t know the exact names off the top of my head. It’s green though |
