We simply live in a violent culture thats been in continual wars for three generations of people now. Actually our whole country was founded on violence. It permeates through every racial group in America. White people are the majority, so of course mass shootings are mainly a white people issue. It just comes down to what our country was founded on; violence and domination.
Saying it's strictly a white people issue is dumb people thinking. No different than saying it's a video game issue, or a music issues. We are products of our environment - that environment is violent, and everyone is suseptible. It literally has nothing to do with skin color.

Absolutely. When the president told those congresswomen to GO HOME there was an influx of stories of people saying the same shit to citizens around the country the next day. They have influence over so much and we all know trump is bad for business. Why havent we seen politicians getting Amerika'd? I spent way to long trying to imagine what wypipo is an acronym for  I feel this a lot though. Shootings are a symptom, mental health issues are often a symptom I feel like the root issue is that our communities/social structures/world are more alienating than they've ever been. If you have a fucked up family life, fucked up educational experiences, bad relations with your peer group, no success romantically, no economic opportunity, resentment and frustration build until violence or at least cutting ties with this world (see rise in suicide as well) seem like a rational choice. Racism is alive and well, but most racists don't throw away all future personal opportunities to kill a few people they hate. so now, to solve the problem, we just have to Fix the entire fucking world...

Yes. We absolutely need to identify and fix/at least cut down on what's truly causing these types of tragedies, because without doing that, the types of people that carry out these acts of violence will figure out another way to do so. But the last time I checked, those other means to do so aren't virtually stupid proof and available for purchase at Walmart and other retailers.

I don't think an outright banning of firearms is by any means going to fix the root causes that lead to mass shootings, but it'd at least cut down on the number of, you know, MASS FUCKING SHOOTINGS. It's been 34 years since the philly police fired 10,000 rounds and bombed a city block. Now local police have access to top end military arms and tactics. They'll either pick your resistance up one by one, or pick you off one by one. And if that doesn't work, they will bomb you. And that's your local police that can't figure out how to not kill a guy selling loosies. 2nd amenders, who truly believe that their guns are there to protect themselves against tyranny, aren't actually protecting themselves. They're selling suicide fantasies. Who imagines successfully surviving a revolution? Who even thinks they're going to survive a shoot out with the atf? Seriously, show me these individuals. All that only enables other suicide fantasies in different shades and keeps them easily accessible. Yeah, it doesn't address the underlying issues that leads to the violence but nobody is addressing them anyways, so at least stop something. |
