I don't really even fuck with ween all that much but I cannot stop listening to this. I tried figuring it out on my guitar last night. It's not hard to play at all but I gave up trying to figure out whatever weird tuning they used, such rascals

Yes! When earth crisis did their reunion show in 2007, my buddy and I spent the entire 11-hour drive from Chicago to Baltimore listening to Van Halen. His wife and our two other pals that tagged along were NOT thrilled.

Lady Gaga's "Born This Way" was ahead of its time and was definitely a catalyst in the birth of hyperpop.

In the same vein, so was Britney Spears Blackout to synthwave.

Saw people discussing Sting on the first page. When I saw him do this on the Today Show a few years back I cracked up so hard.

Tom Waits was so much better before he started doing that weird shit with his voice
agree to an extent, but I'd say more specifically when he started relying solely on it.
Rain Dogs and a couple of other individual songs from other albums are pretty amazing but he just leaned way too hard on gravelly voiced drunkard vaudeville hobo. His good stuff is awesome, but he has a lot of really forgettable stuff.
Love this shit

The most prophetic song ever recorded? 1995's "Email is a Men's Room" by Men's Recovery Project.
The Internet is a toilet stall,
splattered with jerks and twits,
and if I may be allowed to continue my analogy
it smells like fucking shit
E-Mail, E-Mail, E-Mail: Men's Room!

Jokes aside I definitely fuck with Sting and also The Police (not like that). My mom took me to see Sting when I was like 14 or 15 and I was lukewarm about going but I came out of it genuinely thinking that's one of the best shows I've ever been to. But I also have a huge soft spot for anything influenced by punk that's polished at the edges beyond almost all recognition from its more angular roots, it's the same part of me that also really loves Billy Idol, The Cars etc. That's like what I wish the term "pop punk" was for, because it's a much more accurate label for it instead of what it's actually used for. I was actually literally talking about them today lmao but you would probably like Dada, they're at that similar intersection of art rock, very unapologetically pop, but also wistful horny old man music, that I fuck with heavy and could easily make an hours-long playlist for Same Dada that did "Dizz Knee Land"?

I like to check in with old bands I used to love but sorta forgot about
catchy, but doesn't do a ton for me.
but Nick's bubblegum pop voice still hits for some reason, makes me remember that the years between Who Will Cut Our Hair When We're Gone and Return to the Sea were probably the best year of all time

got some new headphones (AKG something or others) and I can't get them to really sounds amazing. I've been messing with APO/Peace equalizer and some recommending settings from the website reddit.com, and I can't tell if I'm just spoiled from listening to really artificially punchy cheaper headphones. They're very clear, "accurate" (I guess), but they feel a little stale and lifeless idk.

I really love music as you could probably guess. I love to sing songs. And dance. I like how music is emotional.

But, I also hate the look of over the ear headphones. Alas, I keep hard rocking with just ear.

I am only listening to Cartel’s “Chroma” on repeat today bc it’s a perfect pop record. Recommend me more syrupy sweet catchy stuff like that album plz. It’s straight up like listening to sugar, I love it.

This song is stupid catchy vocally, and the bridge transition around 2:35 makes me feel like John Mayer played the fight riff

whatever happened to this guy? my wife and I saw them this past summer down the shore - they are awesome. really great! Assuming this single they put out a year ago will be on the new record. I'm hyped, I have all their albums soulseek'd on my phone and listen to them on the train often.

That whole era of bubblegum pop rock and indie rock ala drive thru/tooth and nail has a massive soft spot in my eyes.
