Not a lifter but an endurance athlete and I have only gotten stronger. I am sure I eat too much Gardein and faux meats but I do add a lot of pasta and veggies. I eat a lot of fake meat as well. I see zero issue with it. processed, sure. but generally less caloric, lower fat, and equal or higher protein than regular meat so *shrug*

no one posts in the lifting thread. we need a vegan lifting thread. i will say.. i did have nuggs for dinner friday night and then competed in a powerlifting meet the next morning and hit a 17.5kg total PR. coincidence? i’ll let y’all decide. i back a vegan lifting thread as well. post those numbers and some ignorant lifts. doing an endurance training block right now for sport reasons. Also doing a two day submax weekly lifting program to not totally lose all my strength after a couple weeks away from barbells. yesterday was first day back at some slightly heavier weights (I use training maxes, last 1rm test was back at the end of december) and it's starting to feel comfortable again which is pretty cool. my lifts aren't that ignorant.
squat 225 5x5 deadlift 295 5x5 overhead press 105 5x5
A field roast and two protein shakes a day to give me a little bump but otherwise I eat as described above.

trying to do heavy weight on OHP fucked my shoulders up a few years ago, so i've stopped trying to worry about big linear progression on those like with my other core lifts. i hurt my back a few weeks ago so i've been out of the gym for a minute now and it sucks, seeing a PT this week and am starting to see a trainer this coming weekend, so here' hoping they can correct whatever i am doing wrong that keeps fucking me up. my program bases your days and weight calculations around a theoretical 1RM (and after a while i'm sure it is not accurate so you have to test and re-calibrate), so here's what i've actually tested and lifted as semi-maxes before Squat 405 Dl 455 Bench 230-235? i don't really remember that one tbh OHP ??? i did 170 for 2 right before my shoulder injury prevented me from doing anything, so i don't think i'm gonna hit that again for a long time or ever haha I have a feeling i'm gonna have to take it easy for a few weeks before i can get back into the heavier stuff, but here's hoping i'm on the path to recovery cause sitting at a desk at work and then doing no physical activity after has got me feeling pretty restless

No plans to compete anytime soon because I'm busy as fuck with nursing school and working full time, but my best lifts are:
535/285(in a Sling Shot because my shoulder is fucking trashed, 245 in comp)/565 and 225 OHP
I'll still post if the thread is made doe.

i've been real bad about working stretching into my everyday life but i was doing it when i tweaked it last DLing and it def helped a bit, I think my psoas was what got tweaked last time. this time, i was squatting some not super heavy weight ( i was dumb and wen't no belt because i thought i should be able to handle 275 without one) and just felt something weird internally on my right side pressure wise once i got in the bottom of the hole. Only did light weight high volume arm stuff and cardio for a few weeks after, then last weekend while i was bending over cleaning a shelf, my lower back just froze/tensed up and bending or sitting caused excruciating pain to attempt. didn't go to the gym at all last week and each day it felt better, then friday night i was bending over scooping one of my cats litter boxes and the same thing happened. shit sucks.

Just curious if that Wolverine looking muchacho from Gamechangers is considered a good muchacho in the vegan lifting community, or is he a joke? A lot of people credit his strength to eating meat before he wen't veg. He's never competed in a WSM or anything, which isn't really a big deal. There are a lot of strong motherfuckers that don't compete in that shit. I honestly don't blame him, because once a lot those people find out you don't eat meat they get real butthurt about your diet and it's kind of annoying. muchachos numbers aren't bad though (820/474/790).

Does anyone have experience with raising a child vegan? No But both of mine are vegetarian. They eat a LOT of vegan meals / foods and never complain such as baked goods, flax milk, ice creams, etc.. The only non vegan items they ever eat are cheese. I was not overly sure how I wanted to approach this when we started but the veg has been good and they love being vegetarian.

Does anyone have experience with raising a child vegan? no, but I did randomly come across a video on facebook last night of Mayim Bialik talking about tips/answering questions on raising vegan kids. I'm sure there are a million youtube videos out there talking about this topic as well.

She's only 9 months right now so she's still on soy formula and pureed fruit/veggies, but will be transitioning to "real food" here soon.

Currently eating the Pizza Hut pepperphoni pizza and it’s so fucking good Got excited until I saw its UK only. Looks like they have vegan stuffed crust with Violife now too. I hope it gets rolled out everywhere because it’s easily the best vegan pepperoni I’ve ever had. The stuffed crust is only on the smallest size pizzas which is probably a good thing for my waistline because I’m def gonna smash that pepperoni quite frequently

If they roll out a vegan stuffed crust pizza in America, you bet your sweet ass I'll be crushing an entire pie by myself on day 1 washed down with endless fountain Pepsi in one of those red plastic cups.

The one here is stuffed with Violife which puts me off because Violife tastes like shit and has that awful melted plastic taste and mouthfeel which is what I hate about most vegan cheeses. I used to fuck hard with stuffed crust before going vegan and I’m honestly tempted to try this one but I feel like it’s gonna be a letdown. The pepperoni is insane though and regular Pizza Hut crust tastes amazing when you’ve not had it in so long

Does anyone know if the buttery spread on little Caesars crazy bread is vegan? My wife always gets it with no butter and no parmesan, but now I'm reading on some sites that in order to make it vegan, you only need to ask for it without parmesan. Can't find the ingredients for the crazy bread butter anywhere.

bumping for budget vegan meals that aren't lacking in protein, just had to recalculate my monthly budget in the wake of everything that has happened this week and i am shook. bonus points for some gluten free type options too because my gf is allergic to wheat.
i know a friend of mine in undergrad was big on beans and rice with an expansive sauce library, so maybe some riffs on stuff like that?
