Anora was amazing. A wild ride that just crushes you at the end.

Rewatched 'In The Loop' last night. Unrelenting in its joke delivery. Loved how the camera work & cuts gave it a Jason Bourne feel.

I saw The Substance last night at like 2am after being super bummed out by the election and I couldn't sleep
Probably my favorite this year I can't believe some of the body horror they were able to achieve through practical effects
it was so disgusting and gnarly it rocked

Straight up “ohhhhh you made a movie” shit. Everyone was technically good at what was happening. But nope, just didn’t like it.

The Substance looks good but I can't help but feel they already did this on Batman The Animated series.
Also realized Ron Pearlman is Clayface.

Watched both Songs For Drella and A Better Tomorrow tonight, really enjoyed them. Can't believe I slept on A Better Tomorrow for so long, that shit rocked.

Hugh Grant ruled at least, I thought. Kinda disappointed overall tho. Anora is definitely the better experience.

Magic - thriller, horror, drama i don't know but it was amazing. Dennis Hopper at its best, some scenes were terrifying.

Deciding if I want to go see Blitz, heard very mixed things. McQueen is one of the best directors and Widows might be the most underrated movie in the past 10 years.

Yo. YO.
I just watched MadS and holy fucking shit. It had the mania and pulse of Climax with the unceasing tension of Uncut Gems and the one-take style of Victoria.
You gotta go in wholly blind and keep your phone in another room. What an experience.

As soon as you feel it drags it utilizes that to pull you right back in. It's phenomenal on all technical levels. Glued to the couch but super uncomfortable the entire time. One of the best credit scenes of all time. Must watch recommendation.

Don't let this hyperbolic Bills fan lead you astray. He's one of the few people I have ever seen praise Miracle Mile and appreciates that frantic Safdie screenplay style we've become accustomed to.
MadS lives up to the hype.

And to reiterate from when I posted about it a couple weeks back the title sequence is so fucking cool that we rewound it and watched it twice before continuing with the rest of the movie.

Heretic was totally satisfying to me. Doesn’t rely on typical jump scares and just creeps you out with theology, lol. Hugh Grant taking a horror turn was the utterly creepy, limey excellence I didn’t know I needed.

Deciding if I want to go see Blitz, heard very mixed things. McQueen is one of the best directors and Widows might be the most underrated movie in the past 10 years. It was fine. Definitely my least favorite from him. It's basically him trying to do a Dickens-lite tale that is catered to parents.

I guess there was the first public screening of 'Nosferatu' (2024) a couple nights ago? People seem stoked on it. I'm guessing it'll be a Top 3 2024 typa movie. Curious what was changed from the test screening that we saw, Jared. It was so long ago (september last year) I'm not sure if I'll even notice when it comes out next month.

Only thing I noted during that screening was that Lily Rose Depp is the clear weak point and it had some pacing issues in the second half. I feel confident that this final version will be much better given they did some reshoots. I thought Heretic was OK. Liked the first half, but it gradually fell apart as it kept going. Hugh Grant doing Jar Jar Binks rocked.

Terrifier 3 was okay. I liked it don't get me wrong but I never get the sense the director is getting better at making movies just gore.
